Over 600,000 tourists arrive in Sri Lanka so far in 2024

Over 600,000 tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka by March 27 this year, the latest statistics by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) showed.

The data released on Saturday showed that 608,475 tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka in the period, and 181,872 tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka between March 1 and March 27.

Russia, India, Germany, Britain, China and France are key source markets, according to the data.

The country's central bank data showed that tourism generated 687.5 million U.S. dollars in revenue in the first two months of 2024, a 118.2 percent growth from the same period in 2023.
