Over 2000 Katha residents affected by floods

Employees from the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement rushed to the flooded areas in Katha Township, Sagaing Region to furnish the flood victims with relief items on 17 July.
    

 

The water level of Ayeyawady River has exceeded its danger mark in Katha Township recently and 2468 flood victims from 516 households from at least 20 villages and wards were evacuated to temporary rescue camps from their homes. The Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and the General Administration Department under the Union Government Office provided the flood victims with nearly Ks. 6 million and family kits.
    

 

Governmental staff from the DMM, GAD, Myanmar Police Force, Fire Services Department and the Information and Public Relations Department made field trips to the flooded areas where they presented relief supplies to the flood victims.—Han Myo Kyaw (Katha)
