Outstanding students honored in Maungtaw

A ceremony to honor outstanding students who passed matriculation examination with distinctions, organized by Thet Ethnic Youth Education Foundation, was held in Makyigone Village, Maungtaw Towship, Rakhine State on 16 June.

First of all, U Hla Saw Aung, chairman of Thet Ethnic Youth Education Foundation, delivered an opening speech. “We present awards to outstanding student who passed Matriculation Examination in 2018-2019 academic year with the aim of promoting education standard of Thet Ethnic and improving unity in Thet Ethnic groups” said U Hla Saw Aung.

Afterwards, Pyithu Hluttaw Representative U Hla Tun Kyaw delivered a message and Patron of Thet Literature and Culture Committee U San Hla Aung explained about Thet Literature and Culture.

Afterward, officials presented awards to a total of 28 students including one student who passed with two distinctions, one who obtained one distinction. Students who passed ordinary matriculation were received K 50000 each and student who pass with two distinctions received K 150000 and who obtained one distinction received K 100000, it is learnt.—Thet Lwin Soe, IPRD
