THE government continues to conduct joint operations in the Shwe Kokko and KK Park areas, where suspects commit telecom fraud and online gam­bling activities. The combined teams comprising security personnel and administrative bodies are involved in these operations, which include en­tering the areas, dismantling and removing illegal buildings, and taking further action in accordance with the law. One four-storey building and two three-storey buildings were demolished systematically yesterday.

Of the 77 illegal buildings identified for demolition, 57 structures will be destroyed by machinery and 20 by controlled explosions.

Three more structures — one four-storey and two three-storey buildings — were demolished yesterday as part of a 57-building machinery tear­down project. With 24 struc­tures previously levelled, 30 buildings still await demolition.

The government consid­ers the eradication of telecom fraud and online gambling crimes as a national responsi­bility and, to ensure that such activities can no longer operate within Myanmar, will contin­ue its efforts in coordination not only with domestic forces but also with the governments of neighbouring countries. — MNA/KTZH
