Officials inspected the pumping out of water from a new tube well, drilled by the Township Rural Development Department, in Tagagyi village, Kuyaukpadaung township, Mandalay region yesterday evening.
The four-inch tube well has a depth of 800 feet and a supply capacity of 1500 gallons per hour. The well will provide sufficient drinking water to 865 people in 141 households. A water-pumping plant and a water tank construction will also be a part of the water supply project to be implemented with an estimated cost of K 29.69 million.
The department is implementing five water supply projects in the township in 2018-2019 fiscal year. Works on the five projects are 75 percent complete now.—Nay Aung (IPRD)
