THE Broadcasting Governing Body (BGB) held its first coordination meeting of 2026 at the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.

Union Minister for Information U Htein Linn emphasized that private television broadcasters with online media permits must adhere to existing laws, contractual agreements, official directives, and the code of conduct. He emphasized that unauthorized online broadcasters must be registered and scrutinized, adding that legal measures are being prepared to issue further necessary directives.

Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, who chairs the BGB, explained measures to ensure error-free television broadcasts, followed by updates on broadcasting operations from the Permanent Secretary and the Director-General of Myanma Radio and Television.
