New building handed over to monastic education school in Sagaing

A ceremony to hand over a two-storey facility to a monastic education school was held in Sagaing this morning.

Turkish Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Kerem Divanlioglu, Country Director of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Ms. Nilufer Barca, Regional Minister for Social Affairs U Khin Maung Hla, Regional Minister for Planning and Finance U Soe Oo, and Regional Advocate-General U Khin Maung Hla cut a ceremonial ribbon to open the structure and sprinkled scented water on a stone inscription of the building. The monastic education school has admitted 648 students and over 400 students are orphans, said the regional social affairs minister.

The Turkish ambassador to Myanmar explained the purpose of constructing the school facility and the chancellor monk of the monastery and the secretary of the regional government spoke words of thanks. The donors then handed over documents relating to the school structure to the monk.—IPRD
