THE Myanmar Women’s League for the 2025-26 season will kick off on 1 April with the participation of nine football clubs including the new club Yangon Royal. This year’s league will be held through a two-leg competition.

 

The first league will take place from 1 April to 12 Septem­ber and the second leg, from 18 September 2025 to 25 January 2026.

 

Defending champion ISPE, Yangon United, Ayeyawady Unit­ed, Myawady, Thitsa Arman, Shan United, YREO, Young Li­onesses and Yangon Royal will take part in this year’s league at Salin Stadium, Padonma Stadi­um and YUSC sports complex. ISPE will hold its home matches at Padetha Stadium.

 

The first fixture of the league will be held on 1 and 2 April. Ac­cording to the schedules, the Yan­gon United versus ISPE match will take place at YUSC Sports Complex, Shan United versus Ayeyawady United at Salin Stadi­um and Myawady versus YREO at Padonma Stadium on 1 April. The next day, Thitsa Arman will play against Young Lionesses at Padonma Stadium on 2 April.

 

The forthcoming women’s league will be the seventh time of its kind. In the records, Myawady FC and ISPE have secured champions three times each. In the 2024 season, ISPE clinched the title in the league. — Ko Nyi Lay/TTA
