MYANMAR’S roller-skating team won three gold medals and one bronze medal at the Jakarta International Roll­er-Skating Championships 2026 held in Indonesia from 29 to 31 May.

 

The team claimed gold medals in the 500-metre indi­vidual events in the senior, U16, and U18 categories. Myanmar also secured a bronze medal in the 10,000 metre relay event after competing against teams from Kazakhstan, India, Singa­pore and Indonesia in the qual­ifying round and Kazakhstan and India in the final.

 

More than 1,000 athletes from India, South Korea, Tai­wan Province of China, Mon­golia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and Kazakhstan took part in the tournament.

 

The Myanmar team, led by coach/player Ko Hein Zaw Thein and featuring athletes Maung Sit Paing Hmue and Maung Zeya Lin from Basic Education High School No 3 in Thakayta Township, returned to Yangon on Tuesday and re­ceived a welcoming ceremony from officials of the Myanmar Skating Federation, sports au­thorities, coaches, athletes and family members.
