Myanmar U-19 beat Singapore national team 5-0 in friendly match

THE Myanmar U-19 women’s football team beat the Singapore women’s national football team by five goals in a friendly match on 13 July at the artificial turf in Bahan Township, Yangon.

 

The friendly match was preparation for the Singapore team for the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Championship 2019, which is scheduled to take place in Thailand from 15 to 27 August, according to the Myanmar Football Federation.

 

Myanmar dominated the play from the kick-off, withMoe Moe Than, Swe Mar Aung, Lin Myint Moh, Thazin Aung, and San Thaw Thaw scoring the goals for the team.

 

The friendly match was organized by the Football Association of Singapore. Last year, Singapore national youth teams had come to Myanmar for friendly matches with Myanmar women’s football teams.

 

This is the third time the Singapore women’s national football team has made a friendly tour to Myanmar.

 

The trip has been funded by the Football Association of Singapore, the MFF stated. The Myanmar U-19 women’s team comprises 30 outstanding youth players, and is headed by head coach Daw Thet Thet Win.

 

The team has been training since 1 July and is preparing to take on Asian giants Japan, China, and South Korea in Group B of the Asian-level tourney — the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship, which is scheduled to take place from 27 October to 9 November inThailand.— Lynn Thit (Tgi)
