AFTER grabbing the silver med-al at the Chinese Taipei Football Association’s Invitational Cup, the Myanmar U-19 men’s na-tional football team arrived back at Yangon International Airport yesterday afternoon.
Team Myanmar, led by head coach U Soe Myat Min, were welcomed by officials from the Myanmar Football Federation, led by the general-secretary of the MFF, U Ko Ko Thein.
The invitational cup started on 28 September and was held at the Kaohsiung National Stadium in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.The Myanmar U-19 team met with host Chinese Taipei U-19 team, the Hong Kong U-19 team, and the Gibraltar U-19 team from Europe in the tour-ney.
The Chinese Taipei team won the championship title with nine points from three wins.The Myanmar team secured the second placed with six points from two wins and one loss.
Myanmar lost to Chinese Taipei by 0-1 in the opening match of the tourney on 28 Sep-tember. The team drubbed Hong Kong by 6-0 on 1 October, and defeated Gibraltar by 2-1 on 30 September.
