C O M M A N D ­ER-IN-CHIEF of De­fence Services General Ye Win Oo received a Royal Thai Army del­egation led by Lt-Gen Warathep Boonya, who attended the 38th Myan­mar-Thailand Regional Border Committee Meet­ing, at Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.

 

At the meeting, they frankly discussed successful holding of the 38th Myanmar-Thai­land Regional Border Committee meeting in Myanmar, measures to strengthen the long­standing friending and cooperation between two Tatmadaws, the grati­tude to Thailand for its humanitarian aid and rescue teams sent to My­anmar in the occurrence of the Mandalay earth­quake on 28 March 2025, the exchange of goodwill visits, cultural delega­tions, sports teams, and trainees between the two Tatmadaws, enhanced bilateral military cooper­ation to promote peace, stability, development, and counter-terrorism efforts in border areas, and increased coopera­tion between the two gov­ernments and Tatmad­aws in combatting illegal trade, drug trafficking, online scam and illegal gambling operations.

 

They exchanged commemorative gifts and had documentary photos taken together with the attendees.

 

Also present at the meeting were senior Tatmadaw officers from the office of Command­er-in-Chief (Army), com­manders, the Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) of Myanmar to Thailand and relevant officials. The Thai lead­er was accompanied by Charge d’Affaires ad in­terim of the Royal Thai Embassy, senior military officers from the Royal Thai Armed Forces, and other relevant officials. — MNA/KTZH
