PRESIDENT of the Re­public of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing, who is in China on a State Visit at the invi­tation of the Chinese Pres­ident, received Mr Wang Hao, Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee of the Commu­nist Party of China, at the Huajia Shanzhuang Hotel in Hangzhou, where the President is staying.

 

During the meeting, Mr Wang explained that Zhejiang is a focal region for imports and exports and is home to numerous innovative, high-quality enterprises, making it one of China’s economically dynamic regions. The re­lations and cooperation between China and My­anmar have continued to strengthen and that eco­nomic and cultural coop­eration between Zhejiang Province and Myanmar has become significant­ly deepened. He further stated that the Zhejiang Provincial Government will work to successfully implement agreements reached between the two countries and continue to promote exchanges and discussions aimed at in­creasing trade and invest­ment in Myanmar.

 

The President noted that regardless of changes in time and circumstanc­es, the friendship between the two countries has con­tinued to grow stronger. The closer people-to-peo­ple relations are essential for building deeper trust in other sectors, and he highlighted the impor­tance of enhancing ex­changes between the two peoples.

 

The President and Mr Wang openly exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation, in­cluding collaboration in the technology sector, tex­tile industry, agriculture and tea sectors, and ener­gy sector, and the proper ways to increase trade and investment.

 

Also present at the meeting were delegation members of the President, Myanmar Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China U Zaw Win Myint and officials. Mr Wang was accompanied by Ambassador of the Peo­ple’s Republic of China to Myanmar Ms Ma Jia and officials.

 

After the meeting, Mr Wang hosted a dinner in honour of the Myanmar President and delegation. — MNA/KTZH
