Myanmar national women’s team to participate in Chinese invitational football tourney

At an invitation of the Chinese Football Association (CFA), Myanmar national women’s team is set to take part in a four-nation invitational football tourney named “China Cup” in China.


Myanmar national women’s football squad which is making necessary preparations for upcoming SEA Games will clash with Brazil, New Zealand and host China in the competition scheduled to be held in Chongqing from 4 to 12 November this year. According to the latest rankings of the participating teams, Brazil is ranked 10th globally while China stood 16th position and New Zealand secured 23rd place. Myanmar team is ranked 46th place in the list and the contest is attributed to be beneficial for the Asian Lioness.


After the event, the team will undergo joint training in Beijing and play two warm-up matches against Chinese League-2 sides. The team will arrive back from China on 17 September and play a friendly game against Chinese Taipei on 20 November.
