DAY five of the Myanmar Inter-national Series 2019, held at the National Badminton Stadium in Yangon, finished yesterday with Myanmar Badminton Star Thet Htar Thuzar’s loss to Indonesian Maharani Sekar Batari in the semifinal of the Women’s Single match.
As the match is a semifinal, both players displayed their all-out efforts.
Indonesian Maharani Sekar Batari defeated Thet Htar Thu-zar 21-15 and 21-17.
Thet Htar Thuzar initially led the match, but the Indone-sian player’s better tactics saw Thet Htar Thuzar becoming in-creasingly exhausted, resulting in a loss in two matches, 15-21 and 17-21.
As the winner, Maharani Se-kar Batari has already advanced to the final, where she will take on Kaushal Dharmamer of India.
Kushal Dharmamer beat Krishna Adi Nugraha of Indo-nesia 21-10 and 21-14 at Court II at the National Badminton Stadium.
In another event yesterday, Karono Karono of Indonesia de-feated Chong Yee Han of Malay-sia 21-14 and 21-17 in the Male Singles Event.—Lynn Thit (Tgi)
