THE Myanmar and India U17 men's football teams played to a goalless draw in their second friendly match at 6 pm yesterday at Thuwunna Stadium.
The match was held as preparation for the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2026 and the ASEAN U17 Championship scheduled in April.
In the first friendly played on 3 March, the India U17 team defeated Myanmar 2-1. The second match ended in a draw.
Forward Myint Myat Ko Ko, who scored Myanmar’s equalizer in the first match, and other attackers also performed well in the second game. Myanmar players repeatedly attempted to break through India’s defence while also working hard to prevent conceding a goal.
Myanmar defenders also played strongly to maintain a clean sheet. During the three minutes of stoppage time, Myanmar earned a free kick and a corner but failed to convert the opportunities.
Although Myanmar did not score the winning goal, the team’s determined performance in keeping a clean sheet drew loud “Myanmar! Myanmar!” cheers from supporters until the end of the match. — Nyein Thu(MNA)/KZL
