Myanmar futsal team moves closer to semifinals after beating Cambodia 13-3

THE  Myanmar  national  futsal  team has moved closer to entering the semifinals after drubbing Cambodia by 13-3 yesterday, the second day of the AFF HD Bank Futsal Championship 2019, at the Phu  Tho  Indoor  Stadium  in  Ho  Chi Minh City, Viet Nam.


The goals for team Myanmar were scored by Aung Zin Oo, who scored  three  goals,  Haling  Min  Tun, Ko Ko Lwin, and Pyae Phyo Maung (3), who scored two goals each, while Pyae Phyo Maung (2), Naing Ye Kyaw, Wai Zin Oo, and Nyein  Min  Soe  scored  one  goal  each.    The  goals  for  Cambodia  were scored by Cheatuo and Sereyvong.


After  the  match,  the  head  coach  of  the  Myanmar  national  futsal  team  U  Htay  Myint  said  the  footballers  tried  their  best  as the match was very important for advancing to the semifinals. “Our team got many goals as the players  had  prepared  well,”  he  added.


In  another  Group  A  match  yesterday,  Thailand  beat  Ti-mor-Leste by 12-1.


Though  the  last  matches  of the group stage remain to be played, Myanmar and Thailand from  Group  A  are  sure  to  advance  to  the  semifinals  as  they  have earned 6 points each from two  matches  played,  while  Timor-Leste  and  Cambodia  have  earned no points.


In the last match at the group stage, Myanmar will meet Thai-land at 11 am (Myanmar standard time) today (23 October).


The  semifinals  are  scheduled for 25 October, and the final and third place matches will be held on 27 October.
