MYANMAR women’s national team players San Thaw Thaw and Phyu Phway are performing well while playing on loan for the Philippine women’s club Stallion Laguna FC.

The two players joined the club on short-term loan deals in February to help the team in the knockout stage of the AFC Women’s Champions League scheduled later this month. Both players belong to Myanmar Women’s League champions Ayeyawady United Women FC and were loaned under a partnership programme between the two clubs.

They have been receiving regular playing time in the Philippine Women’s League, with San Thaw Thaw scoring goals and showing strong form.

In the AFC Women’s Champions League knockout round, Stallion Laguna will face Japanese club Tokyo Verdy Beleza in an away match on 28 March.

Phyu Phway and San Thaw Thaw also became Myanmar women players to play abroad after Win Theingi Tun and Khin Marlar Tun. Win Theingi Tun is currently playing for Nepal club Sankata Club. — Shine Htet Zaw/KZL
