Myanmar Chinese Chamber of Commerce donates cash assistance to COVID-19 national committee

Myanmar Chinese Chamber of Commerce donated cash assistance to the National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19 through videoconferencing yesterday afternoon.


At the ceremony, Chairman of the Myanmar Chinese Chamber of Commerce U Aeik Tun explained the reason for the donation. Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein said Yangon region is most affected by COVID-19 and he called on the people to continue to support the medical services to address COVID-19 crisis.


Union Minister Dr Myint Htwe expressed words of thanks for the donation, which will be beneficial to the COVID-19 control activities and saving people’s lives. He also urged to follow the guidelines and procedures of the COVID-19 prevention.


The Myanmar Chinese Chamber of Commerce handed over K500 million to the COVID-19 National Committee and K200 million to be used in upgrading district and township hospitals in Yangon to the Yangon Region Chief Minister.
