MS Genting Dream cruise ship tours Kawthoung on Christmas

THE MS Genting Dream came for a one-day visit to NyaungOoPhee Island in Kawthoung Township, Taninthayi Region, on 25 December carrying international visitors from different nations.

 

Organized by TZK Travel & Tours Co Ltd and Hong Kongbased Star Cruise Co Ltd, the 18-deck cruise ship brought its guests for a day of fun to Victoria Cliff Resort on the island during Christmas.

 

TZK’s owner U Sein Gar (a) U Khin Maung Win said they aim to boost Taninthayi Region’s blossoming development by promoting its ecotourism and introducing foreign travelers to its myriad beaches and islands, the availability of high-class hotels and resorts, and increase foreign income and jobs for the local population.

 

After dropping anchor at NyaungOoPhee Island, the ship’s passenger’s received examination CIQ clearance from Kawthoung department officials after which they were cordially welcomed by local organizations, the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism, and staff of TZK Travel & Tours.

 

The Genting Dream was registered in Nassau, Bahamas, and measures 335.35m in length and 150,695GT in weight. The ship is staffed with 1,850 crew members from numerous countries with Swedish Captain Carl Magnus Folke at the helm and 3,323 passengers on board.

 

This is the ship’s first visit to Myanmar and after observing the beauty of Kawthoung throughout the day, the ship departed for Singapore in the evening. —Kyaw Soe (Kawthoung) (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
