ACCORDING to MRF’s announcement 2/2025, Myanmar Rice Federation, export companies and member mills will buy 15 million baskets of paddy and 400,000 Aemahta rice sacks in April and May, according to MRF’s announcement 2/2025 released on 22 March.
Weak foreign and domestic demand slashed rice prices and raised concerns of Aemahta summer paddy farmers.

Additionally, a work coordination meeting on the promotion of parboiled rice production and export was held on 22 March, highlighting upgrading 30 parboiling machines, providing necessary assistance to boost production and targeting 300,000 tonnes of parboiled rice export in the 2025-2026 financial year.
Afterwards, MRF hosted a work coord meeting on solar energy installation on 22 March and discussed powering rice mills with solar energy (41.5 megawatts) together with 11 solar companies which MRF signed with.
