THE Disaster Management Department of the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) hosted the opening ceremony of the Annual Evaluation and Planning Meeting for the Kachin Special Project yesterday at Zealax Hotel in Ahlon Township, Yangon.
MRCS Vice-President Dr Daw Tin Tin Lay delivered an opening speech, followed by a welcome address by Mr Fabio Beltramini, Country Manager of the Danish Red Cross.
The event saw the society vice-president, full-time and part-time executives, the chairperson and members of the Kachin State Red Cross Supervisory Committee, the deputy secretary-general, assistant secretary-general, directors, department heads, deputy directors, officials from the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Danish Red Cross, as well as staff from the Kachin Special Project.
The meeting is scheduled to continue on 13 and 14 February. — ASH/KZL
