MoRAC Union Minister attends ceremonies of electric light offering to Shwezigon Pagoda, LED screen board installation at Zhou Enlai Prayer Hall

The ceremonies of electric light offering to Shwezigon Pagoda and LED screen board installa­tion at Zhou Enlai Prayer Hall, donated by Mandalay-based Consulate-General of China were held at the pagoda yesterday.

 

At the events, Union Min­ister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko said Zhou Enlai Prayer Hall is a symbol of Chi­na-Myanmar Pauk-Phaw friend­ship. The tie between Myanmar and China became strengthened after Chinese Premier Zhou En­lai constructed that prayer hall in 1961. He also visited the country nine times and the anniversary day of his visit to the Bagan Cul­tural Heritage Zone was held there.

 

The Union minister then expressed thanks for donating LED board and LED light slides to enjoy Myanmar’s artworks at the pagoda and picturesque scene of Bagan on behalf of the government.

 

Then, Mandalay-based Chi­nese Consul-General Mr Chen Chen said he was glad for the donation and the Chairman of the Shwezigon Pagoda Board of Trustees expressed words of thanks.

 

The Union minister also pre­sented a certificate of honour to the Chinese Consul-General while the pagoda board of trus­tees to the Myanmar-Chinese Cooperation Relations Centre. — MNA
