ACCORDING to the Association of Edible Oil Merchants and Dealers, palm oil was sold to retired government employees in Yangon Region at nine branches of the Myanma Economic Bank from 22 to 24 January.
It has also been announced that palm oil will be made available to pensioners monthly, with each individual permitted to purchase up to three visses at K8,500 per viss.
With over 100,000 pensioners in Yangon Region, it is estimated that between 80,000 and 100,000 visses of palm oil will be sold to them each month. — ASH/MKKS
