THE Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development conducted a field inspection yesterday to review the progress of household income-generating activities financed through the revolving fund of the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project in Winekaung Village, Monghsat Township.
Monghsat District Department of Rural Development Head U Sai Aung Myo Htet, Township DRD Head U Sai Soe Htay and project staff visited the village to inspect the progress of systematic agricultural, livestock breeding and trading activities. They also met members of the village Mya Sein Yaung Village Project Management Committee to examine whether the monthly financial records had been properly completed and urged committee members to expand household income-generating activities while ensuring systematic management of the revolving fund to prevent any loss or misuse.
At present, a total of K28.1 million in revolving funds from the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project has been disbursed at concessional interest rates to 21 project members in Wine Kaung Village, including K7.6 million to six members engaged in agriculture, K9 million to seven livestock breeders and K11.5 million to eight traders, all of whom are successfully operating their household livelihood businesses with support from the project funds. — Cho Than Nyunt (Rural)
