THE Myanmar Red Cross Society has announced that it is providing primary healthcare services through mobile clinics to those affected by the earthquake and to people temporarily displaced within the Sagaing Region.
In Sagaing, where many people were affected by the powerful earthquake, the Myanmar Red Cross Society has opened mobile clinics to deliver primary healthcare services to victims and internally displaced persons. On 5 February, primary healthcare services were provided to 290 people at the IDP camp in the Moemeik Kone Myay of the Mingun area.
Similarly, from 23 to 27 February, mobile clinics were opened at ShwetaungU Monastery, Maha Thamudi Monastery, Thettawshay Monastery and in Magyigon Ward in Sagaing. During this period, primary healthcare services were provided to 1,584 people. Three patients who required hospitalization were each given financial assistance of K300,000.
The Myanmar Red Cross Society, with the support of partner Red Cross organizations, operated these mobile clinics with the assistance of its staff and local Red Cross volunteers. — ASH/MKKS
