THE Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) has announced that it will continue to nurture and support outstanding referees from the MFF Basic Referee Course 1/2026 to enhance their professional quality further.
The seven-day course, held from 24 to 30 March, was organized to aim at producing a new generation of high-quality referees for the Myanmar football industry. According to MFF, a total of 29 participants attended, including education staff, personnel from the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, and young football enthusiasts from the Yangon, Ayeyawady and Bago regions and Kayin State. The winding-up ceremony took place on 30 March at Thuwunna Stadium. During the event, officials presented completion certificates to the trainees who excelled in both the theoretical and practical examinations conducted throughout the course.
During the training period, participants had the opportunity to fully study the latest laws of the game, the code of ethics for referees, and the fundamentals of on-field positioning and decision-making.
MFF further stated that top-performing referees from this batch will be assigned officiating duties in age-group competitions and domestic tournaments organized by the federation. This initiative aims to provide them with the necessary experience to elevate their skills to a professional level. — MT/ZN
