Merit shared for martyred leaders on 72nd Martyrs’ Day in Nay Pyi Taw

On the 72nd Martyrs’ Day, a donation ceremony was held at the Nay Pyi Taw Council Office yesterday morning and merit was shared for the leaders who sacrificed their lives for the country.

 

The ceremony was graced by Sayadaws and Sanghas led by State Ovadacariya Abhidhaja Maharahtaguru Maha Visutarama Zaygone Monastery Sayadaw Bhaddanta Kavithara. Present at the ceremony were Union Constitutional Tribunal Chairman U Myo Nyunt and wife Daw Htay Yi, Union Election Commission Chairman U Hla Thein and wife Daw Aye Thida, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Union Ministers, Union Attorney-General, Union Civil Service Board Chairman, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, Nay Pyi Taw Command Commander, Deputy Ministers, Nay Pyi Taw Council members and their spouses and officials.

 

First the attendees took the Five Precepts from State Ovadacariya Abhidhaja Maharahtaguru Maha Visutarama Zaygone Monastery Sayadaw and listened to the Sayadaws and Sanghas recitation of parittas.

 

Next Union Constitutional Tribunal Chairman U Myo Nyunt and wife, Union Election Commission Chairman U Hla Thein and wife, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Union Ministers, Union Attorney-General, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and their wives offered offertories to the Sayadaws and Sanghas.

 

After listening to a sermon delivered by the presiding Sayadaw, Union Constitutional Tribunal Chairman and wife and attendees shared merits gained with the fallen martyrs and offered ‘soon’ to the Sayadaws and Sanghas. — MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
