A collective cleanup activity was carried out in Myittha Township, Mandalay Region this morning.
A group of over 350 people consisting of local people, volunteers from social organizations, governmental employees and members of the township maternal and child welfare association conducted a mass garbage clearance campaign along the Yangon-Mandalay Road near Lankhwa Village.
“Garbage is everybody’s problem. We have made an arrangement to conduct a similar activity in the next time. At the same time, we will launch an awareness campaign about public participation to reduce garbage problem on a monthly basis, said U Aung Moe, Township Administrator.
The volunteers were actively involved in the disposal of trash for beautifying the beach.—IPRD
