Lashio 14 June

With a view to bringing electricity to the whole nation by 2030, the nationwide electrification project (NEP) is being implemented across the nation. Now, locals in Nyaungbintha village in Lashio Township, Shan State (North) will get access to electricity.

Officials from the Department of Rural Development (Head Office) inspected completion of the installation of solar panels in the village on 13 June. They then urged the local people to use the electricity systematically and shared knowledge of the risk of electricity with them.

In the village, the installation of solar panels is being conducted with funds of the Department of Rural Development and contributions of the local residents. In addition, the solar panels were also installed in a BEPS, a rural health clinic and a religious building. The five lamposts were also set up in the village.
