Large haul of narcotic drugs seized in Kunhing Township, Shan state (South)

Local authority seized a large haul of narcotic drugs in Kunhing Township in Shan state (South) on 24 July, according to the Myanmar Police Force.

 

Acting on a tip-off, the combined team of an anti-narcotics task force made a seizure during their operation at a checkpoint near Takaw Bridge in Kunhing Township, Shan state (South) on 24 July at about 9:00 am, confiscating 72 blocks of heroin weighing 23.98 kilos worth over Ks. 280 million from a vehicle driven by Chinhok with Mah Shinhwe on board from the town of Kali to the town of Mongpin in Shan state (South).

 

The blocks of heroin were carried from the Town of Namhsan, Shan State (South) to the Town of Kengtung, Shan State (East), according to a result of the inquiries.

 

The suspect were charged under the country's drugs law, and further investigations were underway.—MNA
