SCHOOL enrolments from KG to Grade 12 for the 2026-2027 academic year were conducted starting from the morning of 25 May at the basic education schools in Dawbon Township, Botahtaung District.

 

A compulsory free educa­tion system is being implement­ed for all school-age children to be able to learn, and in line with the motto “Let’s Enrol All School-Age Children for Sus­tainable Development of the Country”, to ensure that every child who has reached the age of five is treated without dis­crimination, that no one is left behind, and that all children are able to access basic education, enrolment activities are being carried out from 25 to 31 May as a school enrolment week, whereas the school principals and officials are supervising the parents and guardians who are enrolling students accord­ing to their grades.

 

In Dawbon Township, there is one high school, four middle schools, and 12 primary schools. During the enrolment week, KG to Grade 12 students will be admitted simultaneous­ly by their grade. KG students will receive free textbooks, four pencils, and one set of school uniforms. Primary students from Grade 1 to Grade 5 will receive textbooks, one dozen notebooks, four pencils, and one set of school uniforms. Mid­dle and high school students from Grade 6 to Grade 12 will receive textbooks, one dozen notebooks, two pencils, and two ball-pointpens free of charge, according to the Township Ed­ucation Office. — Chit Su Wai (IPRD)/KTZH
