Katha Education College launched

The Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education held a ceremony to launch an Education College in Katha at 9 am on 18 December.


First, Sagaing Regional Minister for Social Affairs Dr. Zaw Win, Speaker of Regional Hluttaw U Than and officials cut the ceremonial ribbons to open the archway of the college. Then, Regional Chief Minister Dr. Myint Naing pressed the button to open the signboard of the Katha Education College. They then sprinkled the scented water on the stone inscription of the college. 


Next, the regional Chief Minister gave opening remarks and explained how the regional government has undertaken for development of the regional education sector. 


The college includes a three-storey school building, a two-stroey school building, 2 two-storey apartments for 160 students and a 4U4S building for teachers. In addition, transformer construction and installation of power lines have been undertaken. A total of 65 trainees are studying in 2018-2029 Academic Year and a total of 200 trainees will be invited in 2019-2020 Academic Year. 


At the ceremony, Director General of the Ministry of Education Dr. Thein Win and one of local community leaders spoke words of thanks. Then, Teacher Daw Tin May Htwe who served as a responsible person at Katha Education College clarified the history of the college. The regional Chief Minister and officials observed the school building in the college.
