OVER 320 Japanese companies will recruit more than 1,100 Myanmar workers, according to a statement on demand letters released by Myanmar Embassy to Japan on 15 February.
The embassy has carried out timely verifications of demand letters received from the Ministry of Labour via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it said.
It verifies whether labour supervisory company and factories or companies which offered jobs in Japan are officially established or not, and re-submits its findings and remarks to the Ministry of Labour through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The embassy dispatched 325 demand letters to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after verification until 21 November 2024. According to it, more than 270 Myanmar male workers and more than 870 Myanmar female workers would be employed by up to 325 Japanese companies.
In a statement on 31 January 2025, the embassy said up to 450 Japanese companies would recruit about 1,500 Myanmar workers. — MT/ZS
