IT and Cyber Security Dept, US ITC Council for Myanmar sign MoU on capacity building

INFORMATION Technology and Cyber Security Department, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC), and U.S. ICT Council for Myanmar signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) yesterday morning at the MOTC office in Nay Pyi Taw to cooperate on ICT capacity-building and training activities.

The Deputy Minister for MOTC, U Kyaw Myo and U Tha Oo, the Permanent Secretary U Soe Thein and responsible persons of MOTC, Chairmen and members of e-Government Working Committee and (8) Sub-Committees, representatives of U.S. Embassy to Myanmar, Executive Director and members of U.S. ICT Council for Myanmar attended the signing ceremony of the MOU.

In this occasion, the Permanent Secretary U Soe Thein delivered the opening speech and Ms. Jennifer Peterson from Economic Section of U.S Embassy to Myanmar and Ms. Max Shu Teasdale, Executive Director from US ICT Council for Myanmar gave welcome remarks respectively. Next, U Sai Saw Lin Tun, Director General, Information Technology and Cyber Security Department and Ms. Max Shu Teasdale, Executive Director of US ICT Council for Myanmar signed the MOU.

Under the MOU, various ICT capacity-building and training activities including “Myanmar - U.S Digital Forum in Nay Pyi Taw” will provide by member companies of US ICT Council for Myanmar to boost digital skills of government officials and staff. These include co-hosting workshops, and ICT trainings, disseminating e-Government and ICT “best practices guides”. —MNA
