A ceremony to issue identity cards (ID) to local people was held at the Monastery of Ywathit Village in Mawkmai Township, Shan State (South) yesterday.
The collective granting of ID cards to local people was jointly conducted by the township General Administration Department and the township Department of Immigration and Population.
Officials from the township Department of Immigration and Population and GAD issued identity cards to local people including people above ten years old and 18 years old, people who changed their ID cards and who lost their ID cards free of charge.—Sai Myo Thant, IPRD
