A ballistic missile fired by the Houthi rebel group targeted a pro-government military base in Yemen's southern port city of Aden on Thursday morning, killing five soldiers and injuring ten others, an army officer told Xinhua.

The army officer, who asked to remain anonymous, said that "a ballistic missile landed on a military base in Buraiga district of Aden province, killing around five soldiers and injuring nearly 10 others at the scene."

The ballistic missile attack occurred during a military parade at the Jala military base of the newly-recruited army forces backed by the United Arab Emirates in Aden, said the officer.
