Maukmai, 12 June
With a view to conserve natural environment in the township, the Forest Department organized a collective tree-planting ceremony in Maukmai Township, Southern Shan State yesterday morning.
The event was held at a location beside an inter-village road in Honat village-tract in Maukmai Township. On the occasion, Chairman of the township management committee Township Administrator U Han Thura gave a speech and Shan State MPs U Sai Ngaung Hsai Hein and U Khun Han Thein Oo, and Police Major Myo Kyi presented saplings to the participants.
Next, the participants grew a total of 1000 saplings such as teak and hardwood with the aim of environment clean, green and peaceful during the activity.
