ACCORDING to records from the Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF), Myanmar earned US$55 million from the export of 178,191.5 tonnes of rice and broken rice in February of the 2025-2026 financial year.
A total of 56 companies participated in the February exports, which consisted of 104,861.5 tonnes of rice and 73,330 tonnes of broken rice, totalling 178,191.5 tonnes.
China remained the top destination for these exports in February, importing 40,266 tonnes of rice and 59,491 tonnes of broken rice. Monthly earnings from exports are April: 142,788 tonnes ($52 million), May: 259,501 tonnes ($91 million), June: 212,416 tonnes ($71 million), July: 230,672 tonnes ($77 million), August: 192,985 tonnes ($65 million), September: 168,046 tonnes ($52 million), October: 316,920 tonnes ($92 million), November: 263,815 tonnes ($76 million), December: 331,869 tonnes ($99 million), January: 208,847 tonnes ($60 million), and February: 178,191 tonnes ($55 million).
The total volume for the 11 months from April to February exceeded 2.5 million tonnes, resulting in cumulative revenue of US$790 million. — MT/ZN
