THE vaccination programme for the officials at Union-level organizations and senior government officials was conducted in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

Officials who took part in the Covishield vaccination shared their experiences in the programme.

Dr Myat Wunna Soe (Deputy Director-General of Public Health Department)

“Today’s COVID-19 vaccination programme was for the civil service personnel in Nay Pyi Taw. It will be started on 5th of every month. The remaining staff members of ministries will be vaccinated tomorrow in line with the procedures of the Ministry of Health and Sports, followed by the other persons.

From 500 to 1,000 persons will be vaccinated every day. Practices of social distancing, wearing masks and hand washing must be taken even after the two rounds of vaccines.”

Preliminary medical tests were carried out before giving vaccines to the registered personnel from the ministries. Other medicines for some symptoms of side effects were also given to them. There has been no significant health problem after the vaccination to around 10,000 persons.

The vaccinated persons were allowed for leaving only after 30 minutes to closely monitor their health conditions and were asked to report on any health problems in 24 hours.

Dr Khin May Nu (Deputy Director-General of Social Welfare Department)

I undertook preliminary medical tests before getting vaccinated. I was asked whether I have heart problems, blood pressure and diabetes — no pain during the vaccination. I am pleased to get the vaccine.

U Zaw Aye (Director from Ministry of Construction)

There was no difficulty in getting the vaccination. I undertook medical tests such as blood pressure — no bad feeling during and after the vaccination. I recommend the people to get vaccinated.

U Thein Shwe Win (Director from Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement)

Health workers conducted preliminary medical tests on me and asked questions about the background health conditions. We also received the registration cards for completion of the first round of vaccine with the date for the second round. We were reminded not to take any vaccine between the two rounds of vaccine. A total of 491 personnel from Union-level organizations and 11 ministries got vaccinated on 4 February, and the vaccination for remaining ones from other ministries will be conducted in the following days.
