Hlegu 20 August
The Fire Services Department (FSD) and the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) jointly organized a natural disaster preparedness drill in the compound of the basic education high school (1) (Inndaing) in Hlegu Township, Yangon Region on 19 August.
At the event, an official from the FSD shared knowledge about natural disasters such as earthquake, landslides and mudslides that used to happen in monsoon season and preventative measures. Next, the natural disaster drill was conducted with the aim of rescuing people when natural disaster occurs in the region. The headmistress, teachers, students and volunteers from the MRCS were involved in the earthquake drill.—Naing Lin (Hlegu)
