THE regular meeting and dona­tion ceremony for the construc­tion of Buddha Hall in the Pyigyi Chantha (MyoU) Pagoda com­pound, Dagon Myothit (North) Township, Dagon Myothit Dis­trict, Yangon Region, was held yesterday afternoon at the San­tisukha Dhamma Hall within the pagoda compound.

 

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Namo Tassa three times, after which members of the Buddha Hall construction team received guid­ance from the Township Sangha Nayaka Committee Chairman, Sayadaw Bhaddanta Suriya.

 

U Tint Wai, patron of the Sasana Beikman construction committee, and U Myint Zaw, chairman of the committee, then addressed matters relating to the construction of the temple.

 

Subsequently, donors con­tributed cash for the Sasana Beikman, which was received by the chairman and members of the Township Management and Administration Body, as well as members of the construction team. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the donors. The ceremony concluded with the recitation of the Buddha Sasan­am Siram Titthatu three times.

 

The Buddha Hall has been constructed to host religious ceremonies, Abhidhamma and Visuddhimagga examinations, and other religious activities in a grand and spacious setting. The building is a two-storey reinforced concrete structure measuring 200 feet in length and 90 feet in width, capable of accommodating approximately 1,000 monks. — Bala/MKKS
