THE regular meeting and donation ceremony for the construction of Buddha Hall in the Pyigyi Chantha (MyoU) Pagoda compound, Dagon Myothit (North) Township, Dagon Myothit District, Yangon Region, was held yesterday afternoon at the Santisukha Dhamma Hall within the pagoda compound.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Namo Tassa three times, after which members of the Buddha Hall construction team received guidance from the Township Sangha Nayaka Committee Chairman, Sayadaw Bhaddanta Suriya.
U Tint Wai, patron of the Sasana Beikman construction committee, and U Myint Zaw, chairman of the committee, then addressed matters relating to the construction of the temple.
Subsequently, donors contributed cash for the Sasana Beikman, which was received by the chairman and members of the Township Management and Administration Body, as well as members of the construction team. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the donors. The ceremony concluded with the recitation of the Buddha Sasanam Siram Titthatu three times.
The Buddha Hall has been constructed to host religious ceremonies, Abhidhamma and Visuddhimagga examinations, and other religious activities in a grand and spacious setting. The building is a two-storey reinforced concrete structure measuring 200 feet in length and 90 feet in width, capable of accommodating approximately 1,000 monks. — Bala/MKKS
