Disabled person makes generous donation for oxygen plant in Yenangyaung

 July 20, 2021

A disabled person with a wheelchair donated 30,000 kyats for the construction of an oxygen plant in Yenangyaung on 18 July.

The man, who lives on the streets of Yenangyaung and lives on public donations, collected and donated banknotes, according to social media reports.

Despite being poor and disabled, the charitable contribution for the construction of the much-needed oxygen plant is now a generous donation, and thus donors can now donate any amount of faith for the benefit of the community to build and purchase an oxygen plant in any area, officials said.

The third wave of the COVID- 19 virus in Myanmar has increased the rate of infection plus oxygen requirements.

The Tatmadaw and volunteers are trying to meet the oxygen needs of the COVID-19 centres promptly, and a committee has been formed to build an oxygen plant in Yenangyaung Township, which will cost about 80 million kyats.

Until now, over 40 million donations from well-wishers have been received and when the plant is completed, it will be able to distribute about 40 large 40-litre containers daily, according to the Oxygen Plant Implementation Committee. — MNA
