The course covers four types—front office operation, housekeeping, food & beverage services and food & beverage production— and runs from 5 to 31 May. The four-week course is being attended by 133 trainees. The DHT conducted two similar courses in Lashio and 107 trainees were presented competition certificates. So this course will be the third of its kind in northern Shan State.

The opening ceremony was also attended by departmental officials, local hoteliers, ethnic cultural troupes, course instructors, town elders and guests totaling about 250 people.—MOHT
