AUTHORITIES have contin­ued dismantling illegal build­ings used for online fraud and illegal gambling activities in Shwe Kokko.

The government said that joint departmental teams are carrying out clearance oper­ations in the Shwe Kokko and KK Park areas to prevent the continued use of illegal struc­tures for online scam activities. Equipment used in such oper­ations has also been systemat­ically destroyed, and the illegal buildings are being completely demolished.

During the latest phase of the operation, three three-sto­rey residential buildings used for online scam activities were demolished using heavy ma­chinery. The structures were among 77 buildings identified for removal, including 57 sched­uled to be demolished using machinery and 33 designated for demolition by explosive means.

Officials confirmed that three buildings have been de­molished so far. The remaining illegal structures will continue to be dismantled in subsequent phases.

The authorities also stat­ed that efforts to combat on­line scam networks are being undertaken as a national re­sponsibility, in cooperation with neighbouring countries and in­ternational partners, to prevent such activities from becoming re-established in Myanmar. — MNA/MKKS
