Concrete road put into service in Maungdaw Township

An opening ceremony of a concrete road to mark 78th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day was held in Wethali Ward in the Town of Maungdaw, Rakhine State at about 9:00 am on 24 March.

 

First, Assistant Director of the Township Development Committee U Maung Aye Thein delivered an opening speech and explained about the construction works of the road.

 

The road which is 1950 ft. long and 12ft. wide was constructed by a tender wining company with Ks.158.56 million allocated by Rakhine state government in 2022-2023 FY, according to an official from the Township Development Committee.

 

During the event, Minister of Ministry of the State Social Affairs U Aung Myo, Chairman of the District Administration Council U Nay Oo, member of the District Administration Council Lieutenant Col. Kyaw Thu Win and Assistant Director of the Township Development Committee U Maung Aye Thein cut a ceremonial ribbon to formally open the road. Afterwards, officials looked round the road and stressed the importance of quality construction and maintenance.—Thet Lwin Soe (District IPRD)
