Companies, orgs, public continue donation to COVID-19 Committee

Company, organization and individual donors donated financial assistance and hospital supplies to the National Central Committee on COVID-19 Prevention, Containment and Treatment in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.


Firstly, officials from Myanmar Council of Churches and the All Myanmar Gorkha Central Board explained the donation.


Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr Myint Htwe then thanked the donors and said this collective support gives great strength to combating COVID-19 across the nation. He added that the medical equipment will be beneficial even after COVID-19.


Next, the Union Minister and the directors-general of the Union Minister Office and Public Health and Medical Services Department accepted the donations and gave certificates of honour in return.


Myanmar Council of Churches donated K3 million, the Church of the Province of Myanmar (Anglican) donated K7 million, Karen Baptist Convention KBC donated K6 million, U Naw Memorial Baptist Church donated K5 million, Yangon YWCA (Young Men Christian Association) donated K2.28 million, The Salvation Army donated K1.52 million, All Myanmar Gorkha Central Board donated K10.8 million, Gurkha Humanitarian Aid Association (Myanmar) donated K3 million, PMA Care donated K5 million, and the Construction Housing & Infrastructure Development Bank donated K15 million yesterday.


Earlier yesterday morning, Maha Gandhari Yautkaw Missionary, donated K10 million, U Htay Oo (Htay Wingabar Co Ltd) donated K1 million, U Aung Kaung+Daw Aye Aye Nwe and family donated K500,000 for combating COVID-19 as well. —MNA
