Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment on COVID-19 holds 2nd meeting

The National Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) held its second meeting at the Presidential Palace in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, chairperson of the said national central committee, delivered the opening address at the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by central committee secretaries and Union Ministers who are members of the central committee.

Following the opening address by the committee’s chairperson, members of the central committee discussed matters relating to extension of COVID-19 rules and regulations beyond 30 April, transportation of migrant workers who would be returning via border checkpoints to their home towns, imposing community based facility quarantine for 21 days on them, systematic spending of the State budget on COVID-19 disease prevention, control and treatment measures, operation of factories in accordance with the rules and regulations and measures for the smooth flow of goods and commodities.

Chairperson of the national central committee Daw Aung San Suu Kyi gave guidance and decisions based on the submissions made, after which the meeting came to a close.—MNA (Translated by TTN)
