An event to donate cash to Mogaung Pagoda was held at the pagoda in Kyaunggon Township, Ayeyawady Region this morning.
On the occasion, on behalf of Permanent Secretary (Retired) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr Khin Zaw, wife Daw Aye Aye Myint and family, Chairman of the township development committee U Khin Aung Swe donated one million kyats in which Ks. 500,000 was contributed by employees from the Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department through Chairman of the pagoda board of trustees U Ohn Han.
Next, the presiding Sayadaw of the Mogaung Pariyati Monastery recited the “Paritta” and shared merits gained. Mogaung Pagoda, an ancient historic pagoda dating back from more than 100 years is being preserved by the pagoda board of trustees.
