BASIC education schools across the country reopened yesterday for the 2026-2027 academic year, and teaching activities have also commenced at schools through­out Tiddim Township in Chin State.

 

At 10 am yesterday, Chair­man of the Chin State Reha­bilitation and Reconstruction Committee Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Than Soe, the Committee’s Vice-Chair­man and Chin State Minister for Security and Border Affairs Col Khin Maung Htwe and the deputy director-general of the Department of Basic Education visited Basic Education High School No 1 in Tiddim to ob­serve and encourage students and teachers as classes began.

 

According to the Tiddim District Education Office, a to­tal of 10,457 students from KG to Grade 12 are currently attending schools in Tiddim Township, and 1,706 students in Tonzang Town­ship. — District IPRD/KNN
